Buzz off Bugs!
Finn and I were in the bathroom the other morning...before heading off to school. We had just finished brushing our teeth, when there it was...I saw a little beetle on the floor which appeared D-E-A-D. I thought to myself, little boys love bugs right??? So I brought the bug to his attention..."Look Buddy, It's a Bug...Isn't that COOL"...I pick up the bug and hold it in my hand...then, I ask him if he wants to hold the bug, and he responds with a nod of his head, as if to say "yes mama, I want to hold the bug"...He is holding the bug in his hand with such awe...examining every aspect of the bug with his little wondering eyes...then, all of a sudden the bug begins to move, YES, move...in his little tiny hand...He had no idea what to think, so all he did was react, trying hysterically to shake the bug out of his hand. It just wouldn't let go...so I grabbed it, and we took it outside and let it go. He cried and cried, he had no idea what just happened. As a result, he walks around the house now, examining the floor for, "BUGS"...If he sees a speck of dirt, or a piece of a leaf on the floor, he backs up pointing at the bug saying mama, mama, mama...
So, as a result of a little show and tell, I have given my child a phobia of Bugs, or anything resembling a Bug for that matter...I hope that "this too shall pass"...
Will keep you updated on any future bug sitings...

First Day on the Snow
We took Finn to Wolf Laurel last weekend and it was a blast...It must have been 55+ degrees outside that day, sun shining, the snow was soft, it was ideal. Michael and I took turns snowboarding and hanging out with little boy on the snow and in the lodge. I am not gonna lie, that was a lot of work. He was really into eating the snow outside, but inside all he wanted to do was run around like a mad man. So to say the least it was an exhaustingly fun day. Towards the end of the day we took him down the bunny slope on the snow skate (item resembling a skateboard but without any wheels). Michael positioned his feet on the outside of the board and placed Finn on the inside, in-between his legs...he had so much fun. It was so awesome to see that kind of smile on my child's face. By next winter who knows he may be taking the lift up??? We shall see.
Lydia Jane and Zadie Blue!!
So Lydia Jane and Zadie Blue have joined us as of January 19, 2008...
To their parent's dismay, they are in fact...Capricorn babies. AJ and Uncky B, here is a little insight as to your babies up and coming personalities...
I have this on file becuase my child too is a capricorn baby!!
Oh, My Capricorn Child…
Capricorn child has maturity way beyond his age. He may, at times, put you to shame, when you try to do the typical baby talk with him. Right from his childhood, he will be determined and positive in whatever he does. He is not the one to throw unnecessary tantrums, but he will be able to communicate his disapproval or inconvenience with the same force. After getting his message across to you, he will wait for your answer. In case you say no, he will accept it if the thing is not that important.
However, if it is, he will patiently wait and wear you down till the time you give in to his demands. With time, your Capricorn baby will become more and more organized. His shoes will be in the rack, books in the bookshelf and clothes in the cupboard. He wouldn't be much of a prankster and will be more attached to family. There will be only a few close friends with whom he will share his feelings. After coming home from school, the first thing he will do is his homework. All other things come after his duties and responsibilities.
The games of Capricorn children are seldom childish. They usually play the part of teacher, doctor, engineer, mommy or daddy. Strangely, they look pretty convincing in these roles too. They are drawn towards art and music and will spend hours indulging in them. A Capricorn child will never waste his time in useless games; rather he will always be involved in something constructive. You will have to practically force him to go outside and play in the sunshine. He may not be a quick learner, but he will always manage to get A-grades in school.
He will move slowly, but in the end, he will leave the other kids much behind him. A January-born kid is almost always modest and is rarely rude or mean to others. Infact, you may feel that the other kids are bossing him around. Don't worry! He may be patient with such people, but he knows how to take care of himself. He will find one or the other way to get even. A Capricorn child will be interested in the opposite sex, but he will be too shy about it. You will have to handle his feelings very carefully in this area or they may become too closeted.
Unless pushed too far, a Capricorn child will be very pleasant, tolerant and loving. He will give elders the respect they deserve and help you in everyway he can. You will not have to shout at him, every now and then, to get his room cleaned. He will never venture too far from home and will always come back before you start searching for him. He will be totally practical and will not indulge in the usual childish fantasies. So what if, at times, it feels that he is the parent and you the baby, he will respect you and take care of you when you don't feel so young anymore!
We love those little girl soooo much already, CONGRATULATIONS!!

Happy Birthday Finn!
Sorry it has been so long...there is so much going on it seems...baby showers, weddings, babies being born, packing, (BTW we are moving to a different house here in Brevard) it never ends. We did celebrate Finn's very first birthday however. It was soooo much fun...we had it at the skatepark here in town, appropriate... considering Michael spent so much of his time there in the early part of our marriage. There were about 50+ people that showed up. The park was closed to the public so all the little ones could slide down the ramps, ride their bikes, trikes, scooter's, etc...My mom, sister and I made tons of little sandwiches, we had string cheese, yogurt, guacamole, chips and salsa...it was a really great spread. I had the local bakery made his cake, it was a carrot cake, I had them hold the icing, becuase I wanted to make my own that was low on the sugar. So my mom made a homeade whipped cream icing...I think it only ended up having like 2 tbsp of sugar in the entire bath of icing. They were able to cut the cake into a no. 1...which turned out so cute. Overall it was the perfect venue for the party and for a bunch of children all under the age of 3 to run and play like crazy. We are so blessed to have been surrounded by so many friends and family. By the way did I mention,
I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE A ONE YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year!
Out with the old...in with the New...Year that is...
2008 was a life changing year for us! As you are aware, we became parents to the most precious little boy GOD could have given us, Griffin Michael Hosey. It is crazy to think back a year ago, or even two years ago and see the changes that have taken place since becoming a parent. Our lives are completely different. We were popping the champagne at 8pm on New Years Eve this year, crazy, I know. In years past we would be napping at 8pm in preparation for the long night to come. We would not change it for the world, Michael and I so often look at one another and don't even have to say it out loud, in fact I don't think we've ever said it out loud but we know the other one was or is thinking it..."what in the world made us this happy before Finn was here"?? I don't know what was as important or meaningful, or fun, or loved before his arrival. It's crazy to think about how much you love a child, your own child, and to think this love grows daily, hourly even... an even more perfect example of the phrase "GOD IS LOVE"... there is no end to this love either, it is indefinate, it goes on forever and ever, it does not have a max capacity or a meter telling you that its almost full, I can't imagine the level it will be at in the years to come. And to think, I am one of GOD's children and this is how he feels about me. It was not until Finn was born and I had some time for it sink in when I realized the magnitude of the sacrifice GOD made for us by giving his son for the right of the world. I mean I always understood the sacrifice, but now I really understood the sacrifice. I am so thankful for this realization!
I love you all and thank GOD for another year of Life, Health, Friendship, Happiness and Peacefulness. May the LORD bless you all as we enter the New Year!

Soooo Big!!!
It has happened so fast, my "baby" is now almost a year old. He is coming into his own little being right before our eyes. We have been at my mom's house for a few days now and I have had the luxury of spending some quality time with him not just from the hours of 5-7:30 in the evening after a long day of school for him and work for me. Which, as anyone with children knows is the worst time of day for even the best baby. I am realizing that he understands and knows much more than I give him credit for. We use sign language with him and have been for many many months, we were eating out with my mom and sister yesterday and he was eating and then began signing the word "drink" which is an open and closed motion you make with your hand. I was beside myself, I gave him a drink, he drank and then made the gesture at least 3 more times throughout the meal...I cannot even begin to tell you how it feels to realize that all those months of signing were not in vain. It works, it really works...he signs eat, finished, drink, and more...its AWESOME... All of the other gestures he makes are blowing my mind, and its "modeling" at its finest. He takes shoes and lays them on his feet in an attempt to put them on, he blows kisses, waves bye bye, points the remote at the television, he blows on his food because he sees me do it, he puts telephones to his ear...
This has also reminded Michael and I to be so careful with our words and our actions! We also just taught him a game that my mom used to play with me, I am sure you may be familiar with, its called "Soooo Big" How big is Finn, Sooooo big...he is so cute when he does it...and now he does it all the time...the novelty of the game is so amusing for him. This being said, I leave you with a couple of quotes that I just love, I saved my personal favorite for last. Smooches to All!!
Mark Twain - There is nothing training cannot do. Nothing is above its reach. It can turn bad morals to good; it can destroy bad principles and recreate good ones; it can lift men to angelship.
B.B. King - The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.
Angela Schwindt - While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.
